Romans 14:22

Hast thou faith? have it to thyself before God. Happy is he that condemneth not himself in that thing which he alloweth.

Romans 14:22

Paul asks a pointed question: do you have faith? If so, keep it to yourself before God. The “happy is he that condemneth not himself” describes the peace and freedom that comes from living consistently with one’s own conscience before God. It’s a rebuke against self-righteous judgments and a nudge toward integrity and humility.

This verse ties personal faith to private integrity before God. It underscores that spiritual maturity includes not only outward deeds but inner assurance. It invites believers to live with a clear conscience and not to project their standards as universal requirements.

Cultivate a quiet confidence before God rather than public posturing. If you hold a conviction, practice it humbly and respectfully, without insisting others adopt it. If you doubt, ask God for clarity, rather than policing others’ choices.
