Revelation 14:4
These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth. These were redeemed from among men, being the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb.
REVELATION 14:4
Verse 4 describes these faithful people as not defiled with women, as virgins, following the Lamb wherever he goes, and being the firstfruits unto God and the Lamb. The language uses symbolic imagery often associated with purity and exclusive devotion. “Firstfruits” denotes a special offering—a pledge of full devotion to God. The attributes highlight the community’s moral and spiritual allegiance, distinct from the surrounding world.
This language emphasizes consecration and fidelity. The “virgins” image symbolizes spiritual purity and undivided devotion, while “following the Lamb” anchors discipleship in obedience to Jesus. Firstfruits point to God’s ownership of the earliest and best as a sign of ongoing faithfulness.
- Strive for integrity in love and loyalty to Christ, resisting compromise under social pressure.
- Consider your daily routines as acts of consecration—time, money, and talents offered to God.
