Isaiah 46:13

I bring near my righteousness; it shall not be far off, and my salvation shall not tarry: and I will place salvation in Zion for Israel my glory.

ISAIAH 46:13

God declares that his righteousness and salvation are near, not far off, and Zion will be a place of God’s glory. The promise reflects both present and future hope: God’s deliverance is imminent in their immediate context and pointed toward the ultimate fulfillment in redemptive history. It’s a proclamation of mercy and judgment interwoven—the confidence that God will accomplish his saving purposes in Zion and Israel.

A central theological motif is God’s initiative in bringing salvation near. The verse affirms the eschatological consummation of God’s redemptive plan while addressing the immediate needs of Israel. It also emphasizes God’s glory in his people—salvation as a means of vindicating and revealing God’s character to the world. It anchors hope in God’s faithfulness to deliver and to bring righteousness close.

For contemporary readers, this speaks to the nearness of God’s saving grace in Christ and in daily life. When you feel distance from God, remember that he is near in his promises and presence. Practical steps: engage with the Bible’s promises, participate in communal worship, and pursue justice and righteousness as signs of God’s saving work in Zion—whether that Zion means the church, your community, or a renewed sense of belonging in God’s kingdom. Expect God to act and live in hopeful anticipation.
